Ntungamo District Commissions Modern Cold Chain Facility to Boost Agriculture

Ntungamo, Uganda — April 30, 2026 Ntungamo District leaders have commissioned a state-of-the-art Cold Chain Facility designed to store agricultural and veterinary vaccines, marking a major step in efforts to improve productivity and strengthen extension services across the district.

At the commissioning ceremony held at the district headquarters, leaders also handed over five beehives, honey harvesting equipment, 10 sprayers, and three motorcycles to support agricultural and veterinary extension work.

Ntungamo Launches Shs 390m Multipurpose Hall Project at Kibasti Seed Secondary School

Authorities in Ntungamo District have today commissioned construction works for a modern multipurpose hall at Kibasti Seed Secondary School, valued at 390 million shillings.

The facility, which will be equipped with furniture, electricity, lightning arrestors, and a projector, is expected to be completed within four months by Goldina General Enterprises.

Ntungamo District Commissions New Classrooms Ruhega Primary School

The project unveiled was a two-classroom block at Ruhega Primary School in Kakanena Parish, Rugarama North Sub-county, built at a cost of 147 million shillings by Mutwi Contractors Limited. The facility features a terrazzo floor, twin desks for pupils, and a 10,000-liter water tank to support sanitation and learning.

Thousands Bid Farewell to Pan-Africanist Anania Mugisha

Itojo, Ntungamo — A sea of mourners gathered on Sunday at Itojo playground in Itojo Sub County to pay their final respects to Anania Mugisha, fondly known as Kyafayo, a revered pan-Africanist and former Ntungamo District local government driver.

Born in 1952, Mugisha passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, after a short illness. His life was marked by dedication to family and community, leaving behind three wives, 12 children, three sons-in-law, eight daughters-in-law, and 30 grandchildren.

Nyabihoko Farmers Trained in Digital Tools to Boost Modern Agriculture

Farmers from Kanyampumo in Nyabihoko Sub-county, Ntungamo District, have received specialized training in digital agricultural tools as part of a new initiative aimed at improving modern farming practices and increasing productivity.

The training, held today at Nyabihoko Cooperative Society, targeted 30 farmers who are registered members of the cooperative. It was conducted under the Ntungamo District Production Department in partnership with Sustainable Crop Production and PlantwisePlus.
