 Ntungamo Leaders Push for Extension of Safe Water to Rural Areas

Ntungamo district authorities have called for deliberate efforts by service providers to extend safe and clean water to rural communities and urban areas that remain underserved.

During the district water supply and sanitation coordination committee meeting held on June 17, 2026, in the district boardroom, leaders expressed concern that residents continue to trek long distances in search of clean water, losing valuable time that could be spent on productive activities.

Ntungamo District commissions 390M Shillings Multipurpose Hall

Authorities in Ntungamo District have today 05/06/2026 commissioned the completed works on a modern multipurpose hall at Kibasti Seed Secondary School, valued at 390 million shillings.

Authorities in Ntungamo District have today 05/06/2026 commissioned the completed works  on a modern multipurpose hall at Kibasti Seed Secondary School, valued at 390 million shillings.

The facility,  which is equipped with furniture which includes 120 chairs and 60 tables ,a public address system, projector , electricity, lightning arrestors.

The newly elected chairperson of Kafunjo-Mirama Town Council, Ismail Mutabazi, has urged leaders to embrace unity and inclusivity as they embark on their new roles. Speaking after his swearing-in ceremony presided over by Ntungamo Chief Administrative Officer Fidelis Kiiza, Mutabazi emphasized that the town council belongs to all residents and must serve everyone equally.

Authorities in the south western district of Ntungamo have today handed over the site for the construction of 3.8 billion shillings seed school.

The seed school, St.Benedict secondary school- Rutunguru in Kagarama town council ,whose construction will begin in a period of Two weeks, is set to bring a smile to a community which had no government school.

Ntungamo Kids Shine with Trophy at National Athletics

A wave of celebration swept through Ntungamo District on Sunday as a team of young athletes returned home from Tororo Municipality, proudly carrying a trophy and medals after excelling in sprints at the National Kids Athletics and Special Needs Championship.

The championship, held from May 3rd to May 12th, 2026, brought together pupils from across Uganda to showcase talent, discipline, and inclusivity in sports. Ntungamo was represented by 24 pupils competing across four categories:

·       Under 12 Boys – 6 athletes

The Ntungamo District Council has officially concluded its 2021–2026 term with a farewell sitting marked by the passage of budget estimates worth 76.148 billion Shillings for the 2026/2027 financial year. This represents a slight decline from the current fiscal year’s 76.161 billion Shillings, attributed to reduced support from development partners such as UNICEF and GAVI.

Service Commissions Urged to Uphold Transparency

Ntungamo – Members of district service commissions across the country have been called upon to uphold transparency and integrity in their work to ensure the recruitment of competent public servants.

The appeal was made by Ntungamo Chief Administrative Officer, Fedelis Kiiza, while presiding over the swearing-in of Rev. Canon Joash Twinomujuni, who will represent persons with disabilities on the commission.

Ntungamo, Uganda — May 4, 2026 Excitement is building as a team of young athletes from Ntungamo District on Sunday  off for Tororo Municipality to participate in the National Kids Athletics and Special Needs Championship, scheduled to run from May 3rd to May 12th, 2026.

A total of 24 pupils will represent Ntungamo in the competition, showcasing their talent across different age categories:
